Coach K Reacts to the Possibility of Him Coming Out of Retirement

Mike Krzyzewski is retiring as Duke Blue Devils basketball head coach after the 2021-22 season, and from rumors swirling around the team, they might already have their replacement on hand. Jon Scheyer.

Is Coach K coming out of retirement already?

Since his last game on Saturday, the idea has been circulating that Coach K could unretire. The whole college basketball world was watching closely, as it would be the last we would see of Coach K. Then Jay Williams had to go and theorize about what might cause him to change his mind.

That has led some to believe there’s a chance he could pull a Tom Brady and decide to unretire. He was even asked about it on ESPNU Radio today.

Coach K commented on those theories:

As much as College Basketball needs Coach K, Coach K no longer needs coaching.

It really wouldn’t make much sense for Coach K to actually come back, he already did the whole retirement tour thing.

But personally I’d love to see him coach until he’s dead.
