Talk about going viral.

Purdue Football player Chris Jefferson was the hero of the team’s defense last night, but he also was the most viral, and not necessarily for what happened on a play. Jefferson intercepted a pass for the Purdue Boilermakers late in the game Thursday against Penn State. Jefferson then took it all the way to the house for a 72 yard touchdown. Following the score, his stomach was upset and he promptly threw up on the sidelines.

Luckily for the viewers at home, Fox cameras captured the Boilermakers safety throwing up what appeared to be a brown liquid.

Watch the viral moment below:

During his postgame press conference, Jefferson admit that he knew he’d become a meme once he threw up in front of the cameras.

“As soon as I threw up, I started laughing because I already knew I was going to be a meme,” Jefferson said, via ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. “I was tired. All jokes aside, though, me being tired, we were all gassed. I feel like that’s why we gave up that last touchdown.”

Joking about the incident further, Jefferson wrote, “I been tryna eat too healthy all week.”

Unfortunately for Jefferson’s heroics and puking, the Boilermakers lost a tough one.

Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford orchestrated a clutch drive in the fourth to give the Nittany Lions a 35-31 victory.
