When it comes to suspensions being handed down for Alvin Kamara, it’s not a matter of if, but when.
New Orleans Saints running Alvin Kamara back hasn’t appeared in court since his arrest in Las Vegas earlier this year, after being charged with beating a man outside a nightclub. Kamara’s lawyers won another delay in hearings earlier in the month, setting his next court date for Sept. 29th. If things go as planned, Kamara will presumably be overseas playing the Vikings in London. The NFL doesn’t hand down any discipline until the legal process plays out, and it’s unlikely a resolution will be reached by the Sept. 29 meeting that would prompt the league to rule on a suspension for Kamara.
Odds are Kamara’s won’t hear anything from the league office during this season. Adam Schefter reported on Monday during an appearance on ESPN Fantasy Field Pass, that you can expect Kamara to avoid a suspension for this coming season.
“I think the league is going to be looking into this, but it is going to be a while, it seems, before this legal case is settled,” Schefter said. “There’s a real chance that the status of that case is not going to effect his availability this season. … But in terms of this season, it looks more and more unlikely that it’s going to be this season as attorneys keep pushing out the case, it keeps being pushed back. And by the time there is resolution to it, the season may well be underway, and Alvin Kamara may be on the field for the majority if not all of this season.”
One of the remaining questions before the season is whether Saints RB Alvin Kamara could face a suspension. @AdamSchefter with some more insight into the situation. pic.twitter.com/iVHotkHsKk

Kamara is expected to miss six games due to the violent nature of the accusations according to Saints Wire.
But it would be surprising to see him suspended during the 2022 season given how we know just how slow legal proceedings can be.

So for those worrying about drafting Alvin Kamara, don’t. It appears he shouldn’t miss any time this season, at least from a suspension.
When healthy Alvin Kamara is one of the most productive backs in fantasy football.
He’s currently ranked 13th on this list, which sounds about right.
