Brittney Griner’s Coach References LeBron James When Calling Out US Government

The calls for the US government to find a way to bring Brittney Griner home are getting louder.

Today, it was Griner’s WNBA head coach who spoke out on her behalf. Specifically, Phoenix Mercury head coach Vanessa Nygaard thinks the government would have a men’s star home by now.

“If it was LeBron, he’d be home, right? It’s a statement about the value of women. It’s a statement about the value of a Black person. It’s a statement about the value of a gay person. All of those. We know it,” Nygaard said.

Earlier in the week, Brittney Griner wrote a note to president Joe Biden from her Russia cell.

“As I sit here in a Russian prison, alone with my thoughts and without the protection of my wife, family, friends, Olympic jersey or any accomplishments, I’m terrified I might be here forever,” Griner said in an excerpt from the letter shared by her representatives.

She continued: “I realize you are dealing with so much, but please don’t forget about me and the other American detainees. Please do all you can to bring us home.”

Hopefully the calls from people such as Vanessa Nygaard go a long way in bringing Brittney Griner home ASAP.
