Novak Djokovic Now Owes Nick Kyrgios Dinner As Wimbledon Final Results In ‘Bromance’

Perhaps this year’s Wimbledon tournament resulted in one of the more unlikely friendships in tennis between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios.

Prior to their matchup in the final on Sunday, Kyrgios and Djokovic had a back-and-forth exchange on social media that resulted in the two making a dinner (and perhaps clubbing) date for after Wimbledon.

After Novak Djokovic expectedly defeated Nick Kyrgios on Sunday, the two continued to be extra chummy with each other during the on-court press conferences.

“OK,” Djokovic said in his TV interview. “It’s officially a bromance.”

When talking about their upcoming dinner plans, Novak Djokovic joked that Nick Kyrgios only lost to ensure that he’d be the one picking up the tab.

After the win, Novak Djokovic took home his 21st Grand Slam title, and seems primed to take over the all-time title, which is currently being held by a banged-up Rafael Nadal.

As for Nick Kyrgios? He’s still looking for his first major victory, and perhaps his day will come. But after the match, Kyrgios admitted he was tired and looking forward for some time away from the tennis court.

Regardless of what happens in the future, it appears as though there’s a huge bond being formed with Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios.
