Mets GM Zack Scott Was Reportedly With Team Owner Steve Cohen On The Night Of DUI Arrest

New York Mets general manager Zack Scott is away from the team following a DUI arrest on early Tuesday morning.

According to reports, Scott was asleep in his car when officers found him.

Now, it has ben reported that Zack Scott was attending a fundraiser at team owner Steve Cohen’s home in Connecticut on Monday evening prior to being arrested early Tuesday morning.

On the night of New York Mets GM Zack Scott was arrested for allegedly driving drunk, he was at the Connecticut home of team owner Steve Cohen, sources tell ESPN. A fundraiser for the team's Amazin' Mets Foundation was being held at the house, and Scott and players were there.

While the fundraiser was held prior to the arrest, there’s a bunch of time and distance unaccounted for from the event’s end to Zack Scott’s arrest.

Steve Cohen’s fundraiser reportedly ended around 9:00 PM in Connecticut, while the arrest occurred a little after 4 am in White Plains, New York.

There was undoubtedly a stop (or more) from the time Zack Scott left Cohen’s to him being found passed out in his car.

On Wednesday, the Mets released a statement on the DUI.

We were surprised and deeply disappointed to learn this morning about an alleged DUI involving Zack Scott,” the statement read.  “We take this matter very seriously. Zack will not be traveling with the team for our upcoming road trip while we learn more and determine next steps.

Obviously, we don’t know the condition Zack Scott was in when he left Steve Cohen’s, or if he had any drinks at the event. We’ll await any more information.
