Tua Tagovailoa Responds To Trade Rumors Amid Deshaun Watson Saga

Tua Tagovailoa played one season in the NFL, and people are already calling for his job. While the Dolphins have said they’re committed to Tua for the long term, they’ve also been tied to Deshaun Watson and other quarterbacks on the market.

Tua Tagovailoa went on “The Dan Patrick Show” today and talked about his mindset when hearing his name come up in trade rumors.

“That’s something that I can’t control. I don’t have any control over those trade deals and what not,” he said. “But for me, my job is to help our team win games and help our offense contribute to the success of the team.”

Dan Patrick then asks if he should buy a Tua Tagovailoa Dolphins jersey or not, trying to coax the young quarterback into saying something interesting. He didn’t take the bait.

“What I can do is continue to work hard and hopefully this upcoming season I’ll do that,” he said.

Tua Tagovailoa didn’t look amazing in his rookie season, but maybe the Dolphins can show some patience, and let the kid develop.

Tua threw for 1,814 yards, 11 touchdowns and five interceptions through 10 games last year. The Dolphins nearly snuck into the playoffs, but ended up faltering late in the season.

If I had to guess, I’ll say that Tua Tagovailoa will be under center for the Miami Dolphins next year.
