The Warriors Are Showing Interest In Rockets’ Victor Oladipo

The Golden State Warriors need to acquire another capable scorer if they want to make a playoff run. An emerging target for the Warriors leading up to the trade deadline is Houston Rockets guard, Victor Oladipo. Oladipo recently rejected a two-year deal offered by the Houston Rockets. He could be the firepower the Warriors need in the second half of the season if they want to contend for a playoff spot.

“League sources say the Warriors have interest in acquiring Rockets guard Victor Oladipo.”

“Golden State would not have the cap space to pursue him this summer, so the time to pounce would be now. Houston can’t demand too much in a deal given Oladipo has underwhelmed and will become an unrestricted free agent.”

“Plus, Golden State wouldn’t have a whole lot to offer. Because of picks owed elsewhere, the Warriors are able to deal up to just two first-round picks: one from 2021 (via Minnesota) or 2022, and one from 2026 or 2027.”

The Golden State Warriors have been relying on the prowess of former MVP Stephen Curry to keep them afloat in the Western Conference race. The addition of a player like Victor Oladipo would definitely ease some of the tension in the franchise and take a load off the back of Curry.

With the potential arrival of Victor Oladipo, the Warriors would finally have a constant threat on the wings. Having Oladipo would be the addition of 20 PPG to the starting lineup and a solid wing defender. It may be just what the doctor ordered for the Warriors in the second half of the NBA season.
