Sage Steele Calls ESPN’s Vaccine Mandate ‘Sick and Scary’

Sage Steele is not a fan of her employer’s vaccine mandate. The ESPN employee spoke with another anti vaccine guy, Jay Cutler, on the most recent episode of his podcast Uncut. Steele talked about getting the vaccine, but not by choice, rather by ESPN’s vaccine mandate.

“I did, um, I just…I didn’t want to do it,” Steele told Cutler. “But I, I work for a company that mandates it and I had until September 30th to get it done or I’m out.”

Steele said while she respects people’s decisions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine, it was a vert emotional decision for her to go through with it against her beliefs.

“I respect everyone’s decision, I really do, but to mandate it is sick and it’s scary to me in many ways,” Steele told Cutler.

“I just, I’m not surprised it got to this point, especially with Disney, I mean a global company like that,” she added.

Sage Steele has previously drawn criticism for mocking masking mandates.

Earlier this month ESPN college football sideline reporter Allison Williams stepped down from covering college football because she refused to get the vaccine. Her reasoning was fertlity, but there’s been not one link between fertility issues with the vaccine.

“This was a deeply difficult decision to make and it’s not something I take lightly,” Williams said. “I understand vaccines have been essential in the effort to end this pandemic; however, taking the vaccine at this time is not in my best interest.”
