Josh McDaniels Reportedly “Top Candidate” For The Raiders Job But Fans Convinced He’ll Leave Them High And Dry

Will New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels have a second crack at being a head coach next season?

According to reports, the Raiders have sent out interview requests to the Patriots about McDaniels. And they hope to have an interview done on Friday. However, many are skeptical about the whole thing — given that he was named the Colts head coach prior to the 2019 season.

People reacted questionably to the Josh McDaniels news.

Before Josh McDaniels turned his back on the Colts at the last second, he had a brief stint as the head coach of the Denver Broncos from 2009-10. He led the team to an impressive 8-0 record in his first season, before losing every game the remainder of the way.

Luckily for McDaniels, Bill O’Brien (who replaced him as Patriots OC when he went to Denver) landed a head coaching gig of his own. And Josh was able to walk right back into the comfortable job after his brief head coaching stint.

Over a decade later, and it looks like Josh McDaniels is going to be a lot more particular about where he’s going before he accepts a head coaching position.
