Mexican Teenager Scores Goal at Own Funeral

You’ve probably noticed, but police brutality has been a hot topic in the United States recently. Unfortunately, the U.S. is hardly the only country with that issue as Mexico was having some protests of their own surrounding police brutality this week.

According to TMZ Sports, a 16-year-old Mexican teenager who was allegedly murdered by police scored the final goal at his own funeral on Friday. This one puts the “Dancing Coffin guys” meme to shame:

It’s an emotional scene as friends of the teenager honored him by setting up his coffin so the kicked soccer ball would redirect off the coffin and past the keeper. Following the final goal, everyone surrounded the casket. Sports reporter Guillermo Schutz posted the original tweet which reads in English,

“In Oaxaca, this is how they bid Alexander a final goodbye, the 16-year-old teen murdered by municipal police. His friends honor him with one last goal. We’re all crying.”

It’s certainly a unique and touching tribute to a young life lost too soon.
