Machado Belts Walk-Off Grand Slam Against The Texans And Makes Baseball History…

So you may already know that one of our newer writers, Leslie, feels some type of way about Sandiego Padres 3B,  Manny Machado. I’m not even a Dodger fan like that, but still don’t really like the guy. He’s basically just a punk in my opinion, at the end of the day. But he is pretty damn good at baseball. There is no denying that. And he made MLB history tonight with a walk-off grand slam against the Texans.

Machado is San Diego’s hero for the night. It was his 6th career walk-off home run and the third consecutive game with a grand slam for the Padres. Which makes MLB history. The Padres are only a couple of games above .500 and aren’t the most likable club with Machado. However, Fernando Tatis Jr., who will eventually be the face of the league, is a stud. And he may be the team’s saving grace.

Machado is definitely not the easiest player to like, but he’s a baller. Rafel Montero and the Texans bullpen wanted nothing to do with Tatis in extras, but Machado stepped up and said I got it. In a full season, I wouldn’t be so quick to say the Padres will make, and excel, in the playoffs. But with the extended model, they are pretty much a lock to get in. And who knows what will happen at that point. I’m just hoping for the Dodgers to make it, for playoff Kershaw to show up in full force, and the David Roberts haters to come out of the woods.

Of course, I want my division-leading Cubbies to do well, too. It’s not too hard when they have a team in the division that has played fewer games than the Cubs have won, in the St. Louis Cardinals. Let’s just hope the season makes it to completion and doesn’t get canceled like the rest of 2020. More non-Dodger fans joining the train of people that hate Machado is fine with me too.
