Los Angeles Lakers Saving Over $500K with LeBron Suspension

Losing LeBron James for one game isn’t all that bad for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team will reportedly save over $500,000 thanks to James’ suspension, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.

How exactly does that work?

LeBron will lose out just over $284,000 for missing one game. The Lakers will be credited half that amount, which amounts to $142,002. According to the report, The team receives a credit on the $140,002 figure, but it also won’t have to pay the tax penalty on that amount.

The move actually saves them $532,508 to be exact.

LeBron received a one-game suspension for “recklessly hitting” Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart in the face during Sunday’s game.

It was quite a scene:

Sometimes when you lose, you really win.

Lakers probably don’t care about that savings though…
