Losing LeBron James for one game isn’t all that bad for the Los Angeles Lakers. The team will reportedly save over $500,000 thanks to James’ suspension, according to Bobby Marks of ESPN.
How exactly does that work?
LeBron will lose out just over $284,000 for missing one game. The Lakers will be credited half that amount, which amounts to $142,002. According to the report, The team receives a credit on the $140,002 figure, but it also won’t have to pay the tax penalty on that amount.
The move actually saves them $532,508 to be exact.
The suspension will cost LeBron James $284,004 and Isaiah Stewart $45,201 ($22,601 per game).
