Lamar Jackson Gets A Heartfelt Message From Backup QB Robert Griffin III

The Baltimore Ravens have been bitten by the coronavirus bug. The team is nearly up to double-digit players out on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. The latest report is that star quarterback Lamar Jackson has tested positive. It has been a nightmarish week for the Ravens as far as COVID is concerned. Their roster will look significantly different are they to play the rescheduled game on Sunday.

Robert Griffin III is the most notable player that will have to step up on Sunday if things go as scheduled. The backup QB offered a heartfelt message to the starter, Lamar Jackson, on Thanksgiving night as the Ravens look ahead to Sunday’s potential matchup with the Steelers.

“Praying for my brother [Lamar Jackson] and every player, staff member, and their families dealing with COVID-19. Ensuring the safety of the entire organization is important. Handling this outbreak within the team is bigger than football,” Griffin III tweeted on Thanksgiving night.

With Lamar Jackson testing positive, RG3 will get the start on Sunday if the game is still to be played. However, RG3 made it clear that the coronavirus outbreak is much bigger than football. Many people have lost their lives to this virus and it is still something we, and the NFL, are learning how to deal with. RG3 tweeted again stating the importance of valuing life as a gift.

As of right now, the Baltimore Ravens will play Pittsburgh on Sunday at 1:15 p.m. ET. However, the Ravens will have to do so without Lamar Jackson and many other key players.
