Lakers Superstar Anthony Davis Buys Massive Bel Air Mansion

Ah yes, the perks of being rich! Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis just signed a contract extension with the reigning NBA Champions a few months ago worth nearly $200 million. It appears as though AD is already spending that money of some lavish lifestyle upgrades.

The Real Deal was the first to report that Anthony Davis closed on a massive mansion in Bel Air Crest. Davis’ new home reportedly cost around $31 million and encompasses 20,000 square feet.

Dare we say that this house is massive in more ways than one?

Davis is a native of Chicago but apparently, the Lakers’ star has fallen for the Southern California lifestyle. His new gated community, Bel Air Crest, is located halfway between Bel Air Proper and the San Fernando Valley. The complex of Mediterranean-style mansions was developed between the 1980’s and 90’s.

According to reports, Anthony Davis’ mansion purchase is the most expensive ever in the community’s lifetime. He incurred a $20.1 million mortgage in the process of buying the mansion, which also happens to be the largest and most luxurious in Bel Air Crest.

Anthony Davis is far from the first celebrity to call Bel Air Crest home. The community of roughly 200 homes has also been inhabited by Gordon Ramsey, Kathy Griffin and couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West.

Here is what the property looks like from above on Google Maps:

When it comes to recent real estate moves by Los Angeles Lakers players, Davis isn’t the only one getting in on the act. Teammate LeBron James also purchased a massive Beverley Hills home last fall just before the Lakers won the NBA Championship. James recently put his old Brentwood mansion up for sale, with an asking price of $20.5 million.

Crazy amount of money these guys have! Mansions are spectacular and all, but there’s definitely something to be said for a home having a “cozy” vibe about it too.
