Kyrie Irving Finally Speaks On Vaccine Decision

Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving has been all the talk prior to the NBA season.

After opting against taking the COVID vaccine (meaning he cannot participate in the team’s home games due to a New York State mandate), the Nets decided that he will not be with the team as long as he remains unvaccinated.

On Wednesday, reports indicated that Kyrie Irving was staying unvaccinated to stand up for all the people who lost their jobs because of their decision not to take the shot.

Late Wednesday night, Kyrie Irving took to social media to end his silence.

“It’s not being anti-vax. It’s about what feels good to me. I’m feeling uncertain … and that’s OK. I know the consequences of the decision I make with my life. … It’s crazy times that we’re in. I haven’t hurt anybody. I haven’t committed a crime.”

Kyrie Irving stood firm that he was not planning on retiring despite reports that said otherwise. But he also didn’t really say anything that would indicate when we might see him back on the floor.

For now, Irving seems intent on staying in shape in case he gets the opportunity to play in the NBA this season.

But in the meantime, Kyrie Irving will just continue to see himself as an advocate for people who don’t have a voice of their own…I guess.
