Actor and proud Chicagoan, John Cusack, is at the center of controversy on Monday for an all-too-familiar move he made over the weekend.
Cusack has been seen at Wrigley Field to support the Chicago Cubs during their “golden era” of the past five seasons. And now that the White Sox are the playoff team in the city, Cusack was spotted on the South Side of town.
Naturally, John Cusack has caught some flak for flip-flopping his fandom. And a Barstool Sports employee, “White Sox Dave”, went up to his at Guaranteed Rate Field to air his grievances.

After John Cusack was confronted, he took to social media to bash “White Sox Dave” for getting in his face about why he can’t bandwagon the team.

What’s sad is a culture where entitled ignorant punks think they can do or say whatever they feel like with zero consequences –
It doesn’t work that way – in all parts of USA – Some people don’t take shit from strangers https://t.co/eAhs9JnNkn— John Cusack (@johncusack) October 11, 2021
It’s safe to say that John Cusack won’t be taking in any games with White Sox Dave in the future.
But as for the game itself? Both parties went home happy after the Sox staved off elimination with a thrilling comeback win in Game Three against the Astros.
Game Four was scheduled for Monday in Chicago. But after a rain postponement, will now be played Tuesday afternoon.
Perhaps John Cusack and White Sox Dave will cross paths again.
