Colts Owner Jim Irsay Sends Message To Fans Following Embarrassing Collapse To The Jaguars

All Colts owner Jim Irsay needed to get to the postseason was for his team to beat the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars. But unfortunately, they picked the absolute worst time to play their weakest game of the year.

Not only did the Jaguars beat the Colts. But it wasn’t even particularly close from start to finish. The game ended with a 26-11 score, and the Colts will be left kicking themselves all offseason long.

As for Jim Irsay, he was supremely confident heading into the game. And even posted a message to Twitter exuding that confidence before the game.

On Wednesday, Jim Irsay shared a message to all of his disappointed fans out there.

The full statement read:

 “Dear Colts fans,

“When we started 0-3, we knew the rest of this season would be an uphill climb. We all were hopeful we could dig our way out of the hole and reach the playoffs, and we should have. But we ended our season in perhaps the worst way possible and missed our chance to compete for history.

“The buck stops with me, and this experience makes me even more determined to bring Indiana a contending team. We are already working toward the future, and I’m going to do whatever it takes to put us in a position to win next year and for years to come.

“As always, thank you for your support of the Colts in 2021. This was a rough way to end our year, but this bad taste will fuel and motivate us even more for next season. I promise you there are some exciting days to come.”

While it might not be entirely Jim Irsay’s choice, the organization definitely has some decisions to make. Mainly, what to do with quarterback Carson Wentz.

The team sent a haul to Philadelphia in order to acquire Wentz prior to the season. And he did fine. But when Indy needed him the most, Wentz fell flat down the stretch.

Regardless of what course of action the team’s management opts to take, it’s definitely going to be a long offseason for Jim Irsay and Colts fans everywhere.
