Jemele Hill Uses “Shawshank Redemption” Scene To Congratulate Maria Taylor On Getting Out Of ESPN

Maria Taylor joined Jemele Hill on a long list of former ESPN employees after it was announced on Wednesday that the network could not reach an agreement on a contract for the talented reporter.

Taylor quickly shared a parting message to her friends at ESPN.

“So thankful to Jimmy and all of my great teammates and friends at the SEC Network, College GameDay, Women’s and Men’s college basketball, and the NBA Countdown family — the people who believed in me, encouraged me, pushed me, and lifted me up,” Taylor said, via ESPN Press Room. “Words are inadequate to express my boundless appreciation, and I hope to make them proud.”

Maria Taylor is reportedly close to signing on with NBC Sports.

Shortly after the Maria Taylor news was announced, known ESPN hater Jemele Hill sent out a scene from “Shawshank Redemption” to congratulate Taylor on getting out of the prison that is ESPN.

Jemele Hill has been adamant that her career and life have been better since she parted ways with ESPN a long time ago.

She has often teamed up with fellow-liberal Dan Le Batard to bash the company for how they do business.

Although Maria Taylor was recently involved in controversy when Rachel Nichols claimed the reporter was only getting gigs for the NBA Finals so ESPN could showcase their diversity, it’s not clear if any of that played a role in Maria Taylor leaving.

Either way, this is definitely a big loss for ESPN.
