Ian Rapoport Leaves Mid-Interview To Break Matt Eberflus News: ‘Oh Sh-t’

It’s busy season for NFL insider Ian Rapoport. And he needs to be checking his phone every second to see if NFL teams have any breaking news on new hires of roster decisions.

Today, Rapoport happened to be on WEEI’s “Gresh and Keefe” radio show — when he abruptly left because he clearly got some big news.

“Oh, sh-t. I just got a text. I got to go,” Raport said mid-interview.

As it turns out, Ian Rapoport just got a text that the Chicago Bears landed on the decision to hire Matt Eberflus to be their next head coach.

Ian Rapoprt had a funny reaction for leaving the radio show hosts high and dry so he could properly report on the Matt Eberflus news.

Luckily, Ian Rapoport wasn’t in the middle of something too important, and he was able to report the news just fine.

As for Matt Eberflus, the Bears are getting longtime defensive coach in the league, who has been serving as the Colts defensive coordinator for the past few seasons. He seems to be widely-respected from any coach or player he’s worked with in the past.

Something tells me this isn’t the first time Ian Rapoprt has had to leave an engagement to report breaking news. It comes with the territory.
