Gilbert Arenas Wants Russell Westbrook To Wear #0 In Washington

One of my first memories as a sports fan was watching Gilbert Arenas with the Washington Wizards. Arenas’s mantra of “0 to hero” was something that every sports fan can get behind. He worked his way up from a no-name, to an NBA star for the Wizards.

Arenas averages over 25 PPG in three consecutive years for the Wizards from 2004-07. His highlights are still some of the best.

Arenas wants to see Russell Westbrook wearing his #0 with the Wizards.

“‘0’ is all you Brodie,” Arenas said on Instagram. “It will be a honor.”

What Did You Miss on Sideaction This Week?

Russell Westbrook was traded to Washington a couple of days ago for John Wall and a first round pick. Westbrook will have big shoes to fill, as Wall was a fan favorite in Washington.

Arenas sure makes it seem like Russell Westbrook will be wearing his #0 with the Washington Wizards. Nobody has donned this jersey number since Arenas retired. Now, it’s looking like that might change. Maybe putting on the #0 will rub off on Westbrook, who is coming off a couple rough years.

Brodie couldn’t mesh too well with Paul George or James Harden. Maybe things will be different for Westbrook in Washington. Time will tell.
