Former Astros GM Jeff Luhnow Exposed As A Liar After Saying He Had No Idea About Sign-Stealing Earlier In The Week

Jeff Luhnow is the scum of the earth. Just last week he did a whole interview with Vanessa Richardson of Houston’s KPRC where he did his whole sob story and spoke adamantly about knowing nothing about the team’s sign stealing.

Now, it appears he was lying the entire time.

According to The Athletic, people with knowledge of the investigation said that “there was direct testimony that Luhnow was aware of the sign-stealing scheme.” The league’s department of investigations gathered a bunch of evidence when looking into the Astros case that would indict Luhnow, despite his insisting otherwise.

“Luhnow received emails that put him on notice of the activity, but claims he only read parts of the emails even though he responded to the emails,” the anonymous souce said. “One witness clearly stated and provided evidence that Luhnow knew, and others identified facts indicating that Luhnow knew. The best interpretation of the evidence is that Luhnow either knew exactly what the video room was doing, or knew generally what they were doing and willfully chose to keep himself in the dark.”

Here’s what Luhnow said earlier in the week.

“The investigation interviewed dozens and dozens of people; players, video staff members, coaches, etc. None of them said that I knew,” Luhnow said. “The absence of any facts regarding me speak very loudly. I mean, they went through years and years of emails and texts, voicemails, messages, and documents, and there’s nothing in there that suggests that I knew. And if I were involved, there would be something somewhere. And it just didn’t exist.”

Lying straight through his teeth here. I mean, does this guy have any self respect? I’m sure he wasn’t the brains behind the sign-stealing operation. If he could just admit some wrongdoing it would be a lot easier for everyone to forgive him, and move on.

However, if he keeps trotting around the same bullshit story to anyone that’ll listen, he’ll never get another job in baseball. Maybe that would be for the best. We don’t need this liar in the game anyways.
