Former Alabama quarterback Jay Barker found himself in trouble this weekend after a domestic dispute involving his wife, .
The former National Championship winner was reportedly arrested after he attempted to hit his wife, singer Sara Eavns, with his vehicle.
Per a report from The Tennessean:
“[T]he people in the vehicle were leaving a party… As they pulled into the driveway of a nearby home, Barker allegedly reversed his vehicle “at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed,” according to the arrest affidavit.
The vehicle’s occupants contacted police after Barker drove away from the home, the affidavit states. Police made contact with Barker when he later drove by the house.

The passengers of the vehicle and an unidentified number of unnamed witnesses told police Barker “intentionally” tried to strike them.”
Barker allegedly tried to run over two people who were leaving a party around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Barker allegedly reversed his vehicle “at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed,” according to the arrest affidavit.

Jay Barker was the quarterback of the Crimson Tide in the early 1990s. He was on the team that won the National Championship in 1992, and won SEC Player of the Year in 1994.
According to the reports, he was placed in jail on a 12-hour hold for domestic violence.He is now being held on $10,000 bond and is being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Jay Barker had stints in the NFL with the Packers, Patriots and Panthers. But he never appeared in a regular season game. He is currently working as a radio host in the Birmingham area.
