Evander Kane’s Teammates Reportedly Don’t Want Him Back On The Sharks

San Jose Sharks forward Evander Kane is reportedly on the trading block due to the fact that his teammates don’t want him around next season.

According to The Athletic, the Sharks were trying to trade the talented winger earlier in the Summer, and a large part of the reason was because teammates came out against him.

This comes after Evander Kane’s estranged wife accused him of illegally gambling on games he was playing in, and also leaving his daughter high and dry.

“Unfortunately, I would like to address the completely FALSE accusations that my estranged wife and soon-to-be ex-wife has made against me,” Evander Kane wrote on Twitter on Sunday. “Even against the advice of my legal team, I feel strongly that the public and fans hear this directly from me. I have NEVER gambled/bet on hockey, NEVER gambled/bet on a Sharks game, NEVER gambled/bet on any of my games and NEVER thrown a hockey game.”

Evander Kane has admitted to a gambling addictions, and filed for bankruptcy back in January. But he maintains that he never once gambled on his own NHL games.

“With respect to my gambling, it has been an issue in my past and it would be inaccurate to pretend it has not had a negative effect on my life, financially and otherwise,” he wrote in a declaration attached to the March filing. “I have undergone and continue to receive personal therapy to deal with it and other matters and hope that the issue is behind me.”

For now, Evander Kane (and his baggage) remain on the San Jose Sharks, but that could change at some point during the offseason.
