Brewers Pitcher Devin Williams Will Likely Miss Entire Postseason After Punching Wall During Locker Room Celebration Because He Drank Too Much

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Devin Williams is the subject of one of those sports stories that you don’t see everyday on Wednesday afternoon.

After the Brewers clinched the division crown earlier in the week, Williams was enjoying some cold ones with his teammates. And I guess the party got too rowdy, because Williams got so excited that he punched a wall in the clubhouse.

In the aftermath of the ill-advised move, Devin Williams injured his throwing hand, and will now be sidelined for what will likely be the entire postseason.

Devin Williams spoke on how disappointed he was in himself after the embarrassing story went public.

“I’m pretty upset with myself. There’s no one to blame but me. I feel like I’ve let my team down, our coaching staff, our fans, everyone. I know how important of a role I play on this team and a lot of people count on me.”

Devin Williams followed up winning Reliever of the Year accolades in 2020 with another dominant season.

The young flame-thrower was 8-2 with a 2.50 ERA in 56 games pitched.

I think we can all admit that we’ve done some pretty stupid things after having a few too many. But Devin Williams turning around and punching a wall with the playoffs around the corner is pretty next level.

Gotta reign it in during the celebrations…
