Darius Leonard Makes Pitch To Julio Jones Following Matt Ryan News

The Indianapolis Colts have found their quarterback.

After moving off Carson Wentz following an up-and-down 2021-22 season, the team decided it was time to bring in a more stable option — eventually landing on veteran Falcons QB Matt Ryan.

It was announced on Monday morning that the Colts were in agreement with the Falcons to bring in the former MVP Award winner.

Shortly after the Matt Ryan news was announced, Colts linebacker Darius Leonard (who has been outspoken about the instability at quarterback) took to social media to try to lure in free agent receiver Julio Jones.

“@juliojones_11aye man hear me out! Matt have already thrown you a lot of touchdowns in the dome in Atlanta, y’all could finish what y’all started in Atlanta in the dome here in Indy!” he said on Twitter.
Julio Jones and Matt Ryan proved to be a dynamic duo during their days with the Falcons, setting offensive records before losing the incredibly gutting Super Bowl to Tom Brady’s Patriots in 2017.
The Colts are definitely rolling the dice on Ryan to be a significant upgrade over Wentz — now trading away picks in back-to-back seasons to try to sure up their situation under center.
Darius Leonard has anchored an elite Colts defense for the past few seasons. And we’ll see if Matt Ryan is the right guy to lead the offense to a place where Indy could be considered a real threat moving forward.
