Dana White Not Convinced Khabib Nurmagomedov Will Stay Retired

Khabib Nurmagomedov shocked the UFC world by retiring in the octagon immediately after his fight with Justin Gathje.

“Today, this was my last fight,” he said. “Ain’t no way I’m going to come here without my father.” It was Khabib’s first fight without his father by his side.

However, UFC President Dana White isn’t convinced Khabib will stay retired.

“Khabib and I have been talking,” White told “The Zach Gelb Show” on CBS Sports Radio on Thursday. “He was completely emotional that night when he got through that fight. I have a feeling that he might go for 30-0.

“I think that he’s not going to retire,” White said. “His dad wanted him to get to 30-0, and I think he wants to honor his dad’s wish.”

Is it just me, or White kind of being a scumbag for using Khabib’s father as leverage here? All Dana White sees is money, and right now Khabib is his most valuable asset besides Connor McGregor.

If Khabib really wants to go for 30-0, I’m all for it. I also don’t see anyone in the division that could give Khabib much of a challenge. If he doesn’t, that’s fine too.

Khabib has had a hell of a career in the octagon. If he thinks he should walk away, then we should leave him alone. He down’t owe anyone anything.
