Dallas Cowboys’ Plan for Amari Cooper Gets An Update

Is Amari Cooper actually staying in Dallas?

Last week it was reported that Cowboys #1 receiver Amari Cooper would be released by the start of the new league year.

There were also reports that the Patriots would look to add Cooper if the Cowboys released him.

Only a few days later, NFL insider Josina Anderson said the Cowboys won’t make an immediate move when it comes to the Pro Bowl wideout. They’re going to take their time on what to do with him.

On Friday morning, ESPN’s Ed Werder had an update on this situation. It turns out the Cowboys are still exploring all their options.

“Team still working on Amari Cooper options while hoping a new contract for Michael Gallup is soon finished,” Werder announced on Twitter.

Cooper finished this past season with 68 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns.

If you look at Dak Prescott’s stats without Amari, they are far worse.

Via Stat Muse, Dak Prescott has a passer rating of 102.9 with 13,084 yards, 88 touchdowns and 27 interceptions in 44 games with Amari Cooper in his career.

Dak Prescott has a passer rating of 93.2 with 8,999 yards, 55 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in 41 games without Amari Cooper in his career.
