After the news was announced, it has been reported that Cam Newton was poached by two teams about potentially coming aboard : the Texans and Seahawks. In both situations, the veteran QB declined.

Cam Newton's meeting in Charlotte holds weight. He turned down offers from Seattle and Houston earlier in the season.

It’s clear that Cam Newton wants no part in  rebuilding situation, nor does he want to be in another backup type of position.
It’s unclear what Carolina’s initial plan is for Cam. But you’d think he’ll get a shot to play at some point with Darnold out for at least a month.
Cam Newton being back is bound to excite many Panthers fans. But time will tell if he can actually still contribute to a winning product on the football field.
