Brian Flores Reportedly Has Surprising Preference For His Next Destination

NFL fans were baffled when it was announced that the Dolphins were moving on from coach Brian Flores after he turned them around midseason in 2021.

But with six other head coach opening around the league, the general consensus is that Brian Flores will land on his feet given his positive track record. However, his landing spot might be a bit of a wild card.

According to a report, the main preference of Flores is to take over for the New York Giants.

Don’t sleep on the prospect of Brian Flores to the Giants,” NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported. “I’m told owner John Mara ‘respects and likes Flores’ — a Brooklyn native — and that Flores would prioritize the G-Men job ‘at or near the top of his list,’ per a source close to the situation.”

Brian Flores’ preference will come as a surprise to many because New York is widely considered the worst open job for a head coach.

As it stands, the Giants have a bottom-of-the-league roster, no franchise quarterback (unless you believe in Daniel Jones), a meddling owner in John Mara, and little cap space.

Along with New York, Brian Flores has an interview with the Chicago Bears set up for early next week.

We’ll continue to track the latest from the coaching carousel.
