An Umpire In A Dallas Baptist University Game Had Enough Of The Heckling And Walked Straight Off The Field

“I’m out.”

These were the last words said by a home plate umpire when he just had enough.

You cannot make this up.

In the Dallas Baptist Fall World Series game, the home plate umpire literally walked out and left apparently because he didn’t like the razzing he was getting from the dugouts.

It was a traditional Dallas Baptist World Series Game, the bases were loaded in extra inning. This umpire has the gall to just say “fuck it”. You gotta hand it to this guy. He might never recover from leaving under these circumstances, but he went out on HIS terms, damn it.

You don’t like the way I’m calling the game? Fine, I’m out.

Kind of a cowardly move, but what does this guy care? He has a microwave dinner and re-runs of Seinfeld to catch up on. He doesn’t need this job, anyways.

Say what you will about 2020, but it has given us a little bit of everything. An umpire saying “screw it” and leaving a game is just a blip in what has been an insane year.
