Robinson’s looming contract dispute has been a main storyline for the Bears all season, and if the don’t extend him soon, it could turn into a complete shit show.

There was a report from a couple of weeks ago that Robinson was so fed up with the Bears front office that he requested a trade. Robinson and his agent both squashed that rumor at the time.

“The biggest thing is for me focusing on playing, which I’ve been doing,” Robinson said. “I know it’s not going to be a distraction for me. For me, the biggest thing is just going out there, trying to play my best, trying to ball out and keep trying to lead this offense, Robinson said at the time. “I think that’s the biggest thing because, at the end of the day, everything in between the lines trumps everything.”

Between the lines, Allen Robinson has been pretty damn good. Without ever having an adequate quarterback, Robinson has still managed to be one of the top receivers in the NFL for many years now.

Allen Robinson caught 98 passes for 1,147 yards and seven touchdowns last season. He was able to put up those numbers with Mitchell Trubisky, and one of the leagues worst passing offenses.

He’s proven that he is one of (if not the most) valuable asset on the Bears roster. If general manager Ryan Pace is serious about winning, he’ll need to keep Allen Robinson around, and keep him happy. So far, Robinson is handling his contract situation like a professional but that could always change. Lock him up already, Bears.
