Allen Robinson Already Indicating That He’s Upset With Being Slapped With The Franchise Tag

To no ones surprise, it was reported earlier today that the Chicago Bears would be using their franchise tag on receiver Allen Robinson.

Allen Robinson has maintained that he’s unhappy with the Bears front office. Robinson views himself as a surefire WR1 in the NFL, and has expressed frustration that Chicago will not pay him top-dollar on a long term deal.

Robinson has been active on social media throughout his contract situation. In fact, he gave an indication on how he feels about being placed under the franchise tag shortly after the news dropped.

Allen Robinson “liked” a tweet from Torrey Smith which read, “The franchise tag sucks!”.

Now, just because the Bears placed the franchise tag on Allen Robinson doesn’t necessarily mean this is it for him. They’ll now have a July 15 deadline to get a long term deal done. If the Bears are unable to agree with A-Rob long term, and he remains unwilling to be satisfied with the tag, then they could always trade him to a team more prepared to meet his contract demands.

Allen Robinson will continue to be outspoken about his situation throughout the offseason. I’m sure this isn’t the last we’ve heard from the disgruntled receiver.
