Cubs Pitcher Adbert Alzolay Makes Bold Declaration About 2021 Team

Young Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Adbert Alzolay got the win in the final game of an impressive series sweep against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon. Alzolay’s performance, mixed with some timely hitting and quality bullpen work, was an extension of what had been a phenomenal past moth for a resurgent Cubs team.

After being written off early in the year, the Cubs have now taken sole possession of first place in the NL Central, and Adbert Alzolay thinks the Cubs have what it takes to be in that same position at the end of the season.

Here’s what he  said during his post game press conference:

“I think over as a team, we’re the best in the division,” Adbert Alzolay said with a smirk.

After starting the year in the back of the unassuming Cubs starting rotation, Adbert Alzolay has asserted himself as a key cog in the Cubs current and future plans.

On the year, Alzolay is touting an impressive 3.81 ERA in nine total starts for the club.

Nobody knows if the Chicago Cubs can keep this type of winning up for the entire year, but the good vibes are certainly taking over the Cubs locker room, along with the rest of Wrigleyville. After Wednesday’s win over a strong Padres team, the Cubs have gone 9-1 over their last ten games. They also went a surprising 19-8 in the month of May.

Adbert Alzolay is feeling real good about the 2021 Chicago Cubs, and why shouldn’t he? Maybe the Cubs have a little magic left after a disappointing last couple of seasons.
