Adam Silver Is Wavering On The Likelihood Of An NBA Season Reboot As Florida Registers Over 6,500 New COVID Cases

Adam Silver told reporters on Friday that the NBA has no choice but to learn to live with the coronavirus. With new cases continuing to spike in Floria, Silver admits it could kill a potential season restart.

The number of confirmed cases in Florida has increased by a shocking 46% and Adam Silver is backpedaling faster than Darrelle Revis in coverage. First, we have to live with the virus, now we can’t run from it and Silver seems as clueless as the gas fill fail girl. That must have taken place somewhere in Florida because clearly the people there have no regard for what’s going on in the world right now.

Adam Silver was a leader in taking the initiative to shut things down back in March, but this is a definite backtrack. Several NBA players have tested positive for coronavirus recently, including DeAndre Jordan, Jabari Parker, three members of the Pelicans and several members of the Denver Nuggets organization. Jazz center Rudy Gobert recently reported that he is still suffering side effects, even in recovery. His infection had a domino effect on the NBA circle and ultimately led to the league going on a hiatus.

Florida isn’t completely to blame for the uncertainty of an NBA season Act II. Silver also seems to lack the understanding of what it means to create a bubble environment.

Unbeknownst to Silver, once you pop a bubble, it doesn’t magically reinflate. The Oklahoma City Thunder, along with many other teams, have reacted to Silver’s statement concerning the bubble.

I haven’t been very bullish about sports returning this summer (and fall), but this certainly doesn’t help. I honestly don’t know where the sudden sense of optimism came from either. More and more athletes were testing positive on the daily. Next thing you know, Manfred and Silver came out of left field and said screw coronavirus, the boys are going to play. The NBA season is set to tip-off again on July 30, but some teams begin to plan travel as early as July 7. Look for Silver to be back in the news as Florida and numerous other states continue to report more confirmed COVID cases.
