Victor Hedman Slams Devon Toews Over ‘Dangerous’ Hit On Nikita Kucherov

The bad blood has boiled over in the Stanley Cup Finals.

While the Lightning were proving to the Avalanche (and the hockey world) that they weren’t going to go down without a fight on Monday night, there was a plethora of scraps and big hits all throughout the evening.

But one hit rubbed many of the Lightning the wrong way.

With star forward Nikita Kucherov skating down into the offensive zone, Avs defenseman Devon Toews cross-checked the Lightning star shoulder-first into the boards.

Kucherov had to be taken out of the game.

After the game, Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman called out Devon Toews for the ‘dirty’ hit on Nikita Kucherov.

Luckily for the Lightning, coach Jon Cooper indicated that Nikita Kucherov should be good to go for Game 4 on Wednesday night.

“I never count that kid out,” Cooper said today.

For the Lightning to even up the series at two games apiece on Wednesday, they’ll likely need Nikita Kucherov playing, and playing at his best.

And for Devon Toews? He’d be best suited to keep his head on a swivel for the remainder of the series.
