Urban Meyer Reportedly Made One Of His Players Cry Last Season

The Urban Meyer horror stories continue.

On Monday, The Athletic’s Jayson Jenks and Mike Sando released a detailed report of Urban Meyer’s short time with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

In the report, one veteran staff member described it as “the most toxic environment I’ve ever been a part of.” At one point during the season he even left a Jaguars player in tears.

“Another time, during a meeting that also included members of the coaching and personnel staffs, Meyer berated a player so harshly that the player cried. According to two sources, Meyer slammed the door after departing the meeting, leaving others to console the player. The next day, one of the other staff members present confronted Meyer about the incident in what one source described as a tense exchange.”

The report also says that Meyer was unfamiliar with some of the game’s best players, including Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald and 49ers wideout Deebo Samuel.

“Who’s this 99 guy on the Rams?” Meyer reportedly asked during the season. “I’m hearing he might be a problem for us.”

Meyer was fired last November in the wake of a report of the coach kicking former kicker Josh Lambo during the preseason.

Meyer is currently unemployed. Don’t think he’ll get an NFL job anytime soon.

Probably back to School for Urb.
