ESPN’s Ryan Clark Took an Unwarranted Shot at Seattle Seahawks Backup QB Drew Lock

Not very nice of ESPN analyst Ryan Clark.

Seattle Seahawks Quarterback  Geno Smith beat out Drew Lock during the preseason for the Seattle Seahawks’ Week 1 starting job, and for whatever reason, no one took pleasure in this more than ESPN’s Ryan Clark. During the “Monday Night Football” postgame show on ESPN, Clark went out of his way to celebrate the fact that Lock was on the sidelines while Geno Smith was leading the Seahawks to a win over the Denver Broncos.

“As long as Drew Lock is standing in that place because Geno Smith is playing very well, that’s the best-case scenario for the Seattle Seahawks,” Clark said.

Watch Ryan Clark bash Lock below:

Even SportsCenter host Scott Van Pelt thought it was an unwarranted shot at Lock.  Smith was pretty serviceable in Seattle’s 17-16 upset win over the Denver Broncos. Geno finished the game throwing for 23-of-28  for 195 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

Drew Lock arrived in Seattle as part of the blockbuster trade that sent Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. Lock missed some time with an injury and did not get many chances to earn the starting job  during the preseason. All he was doing on Monday night was supporting his teammates, but more importantly showing support to Geno Smith.

Not sure Drew Lock deserved to be made fun of considering he wasn’t even playing. I have no issues with someone bashing him after lousy play.
