Browns Reportedly Have ‘Plan’ for When Deshaun Watson Suspension Hits

Like Mike Tyson once famously said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

The Browns got punched in the mouth the minute they decided to pay Deshaun Watson an absurd amount of money.  Now they’re waiting for their star QB to have his suspension handed down.  According to head coach Kevin Stefanski, they do have a plan for when the hammer drops.

“We have a plan and as information becomes available we can adjust that plan,” Stefanski told reporters Wednesday. “But, short of that, I don’t have too much to add.”

Stefanski added Brissett will get first-team reps in camp. With the Watson situation still up in the air. The Browns need to get Brissett ready in the likely event he is forced to open the season as the starter. Even if that happens, Brissett will not be a fantasy option in standard leagues.

Right now, the only thing Watson and the Browns can do is wait until Judge Sue L. Robinson makes her decision.

It’s been a month since hearings began for Watson’s suspension. When she does actually make her verdict, there’s a chance the NFLPA appeals the decision, especially if she rules for a year-long suspension.
