Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers Reportedly Have Some Bad Blood

Ben Roethlisberger called it a career after losing in the playoffs to the Chiefs.

If you watched Ben play over the last season and half, you know Ben’s arm wasn’t what it used to be. It looked tired and old. But Big Ben wasn’t exactly ready to call it quits. Now it appears Ben Roethlisberger could have possibly been forced into retirement. According to Gerry Dulac of the Post-Gazette, the Steelers pretty much forced him into an early retirement, which has apparently led to some bad blood between them.

The report goes on to say that the bad blood is real.

Via Post-Gazette:

Billy Bob: Is there bad blood between the Steelers and Big Ben with how his career ended. Was he ready to retire or was it a Troy type situation where he was forced into it?

Gerry Dulac: I would say it’s very very safe to assume that.

Some athletes just don’t know when to hang up the cleats. If Ben saw what everyone else did over the last few seasons, he too would know it’s time.

The Steelers now have Mitchell Trubisky and Kenny Pickett as their QB’s on the roster, which sadly puts them in a better spot than with Big Ben under center. Hopefully Ben doesn’t hold any resentment towards the only franchise he’s ever played for.

Big Ben is a Steelers legend either way.
