Chicago Bears Fans Celebrate on Social Media After CEO Ted Phillips Makes Retirement Announcement

This is the day Chicago Bears fans have been waiting for.

There’s a lot of things to be optimistic about when it comes to the Chicago Bears future, one of them being Justin Fields, who hopefully develops into the franchise Quarterback Bears fans are in dire need of. There’s also reports that the Bears will eventually build a new stadium, leaving Soldier Field behind.  Now there’s  one more thing to be possibly pumped over. After 40 years with the esteemed NFL franchise, the Chicago Bears’ President and CEO, Ted Phillips, plans to retire following the conclusion of this season. That means this will be his final season working for the Bears. That means some big change are on the horizon, which is positive news for Bears fans.

The Bears President make the announcement via the Bears official website.

“Bears President and CEO Ted Phillips plans to retire in late February after spending 40 seasons with the franchise.

The 65-year-old has worked in his present role since 1999. Phillips originally joined the Bears in 1983 as the team’s controller, a position he held for four years. He then served as director of finance from 1987-93 and vice president of operations from 1993-99.

Phillips’ decision to retire has been a few years in the making.”

Of course Chicago Bears fans are ready for a new voice within the front office. Chicago has only made the postseason six times during Phillips’ tenure. So naturally his retirement announcement is largely being celebrated.

We’ll see how this season plays out, but for Bears fans it’s a Big W before the season ever starts.

Bears fans will take a Win wherever they can get one.
