Antonio Brown Refusing To Get Surgery On Injured Ankle Until Team Signs Him

Free agent receiver Antonio Brown is back on his bs.

When he threw a full mid-game tirade (which ended his Buccaneers career), AB was adamant that he was being forced to play by his organization despite a severe ankle injury.

But now, he’s refusing to get said ankle repaired. It was reported today that Antonio Brown will not be getting his ankle surgery until a team signs him.

Per TMZ:

“Antonio Brown badly wants to play in the NFL again, but the former Tampa Bay Bucs star wide receiver says he’ll only have surgery to repair his busted ankle if an NFL team commits to signing him.

AB joined Babcock on the TMZ Sports TV show (airs weeknights on FS1), and dished on everything from a possible reunion with Tom Brady in Tampa, to the status of his injured ankle, and what message he’d send to NFL Front Offices.

33-year-old Brown — the President of Kanye West’s Donda Sports — sees himself playing in the league, but tells us the idea of reuniting with his once good friend, TB12, and the Bucs org. is almost certainly NOT going to happen.”

Antonio Brown would try to explain his decision not to get ankle surgery.

ā€œI donā€™t think thatā€™s a possibility,ā€ Brown said. ā€œHow things were handled. How I was handled in regards to the injury. [They] just werenā€™t able to use me for my value. My true value.ā€
ā€œBut I was grateful for the opportunity and the position that I was in and I made the most out of it.ā€

As if thereā€™s not enough baggage for a team to take on AB, now heā€™s giving top teams even more reason to decline his services.

Sure, weā€™ll probably see Antonio Brown back in the NFL at some point. Heā€™s simply too talented to keep away. But without getting his health in order, itā€™s hard to imagine anyone breaking the bank on the receiver at this time.
