Utah Jazz Trading NBA All-Star Guard Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland Cavaliers

Looks like Donovan Mitchell is on the move.

The Utah Jazz have completed their overhaul by trading their very best player on their roster. The Utah Jazz will trade All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers, according to several breaking reports. Utah will be sending Donovan Mitchell to Cleveland for Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps, sources tell NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski.  Mitchell had spent his entire career with the Jazz, but after multiple early playoff exits, the three-time All-Star is finally on the move.

See the report below:

Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that Sexton is coming to the Jazz via a four-year, $72 million sign-and-trade. His deal is fully guaranteed. This Donovan Mitchell trade comes exactly two months to the day after the Jazz dealt All-NBA center Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

After an offseason chock full of speculation that Mitchell would ultimately end up with the Knicks, he does stay in the Eastern Conference with the Cavaliers. Mitchell has become one of the NBA’s best offensive talents over the last few seasons, averaging at least 25 points and 5 assists per game. For his career Mitchell has averaged 23.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game, while shooting 44.1% from the field and 36.1% from 3-point range.

Mitchell will be added to a lineup that includes two All-Stars, Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen, and a future All-Star with Evan Mobley.

The Cavs are looking pretty good following this deal.
