Kyrie Irving Being Linked To Lakers Following LeBron James Comments

Could we be seeing Kyrie Irving and LeBron James team up again next season?

Last week, Irving went viral when he admitted that LeBron put the old Cavs teams together while making an appearance on a podcast.

“Yeah Bron was behind the scenes…what’s his nickname? LeGM?” Irving asked Brandon Marshall and LeSean McCoy during an “I AM ATHLETE” podcast.

Irving also stated that he didn’t take issue with LeBron pulling some strings.

“He put the squad together! I wasn’t mad at him…I was like ‘Alright, bet. This is how it goes.’”

Now, fans are convinced the Lakers will trade Russell Westbrook for Kyrie Irving this offseason.

After the season, Nets GM Sean Marks didn’t sound too convincing when speaking on Kyrie Irving’s future in Brooklyn.

“He has some decisions to make on his own. We’re looking for guys that want to be something bigger than themselves, play team basketball, and be available. That goes for Kyrie and everybody here.”

It still feels like a bit of a long shot that Kyrie Irving ends up with LeBron James’ Lakers given the current cap situation in Los Angeles. But if they can somehow convince Brooklyn to take a large portion of Russell Westbrook’s contract off their hands, I suppose it’s possible.

At the very least, the Kyrie-Lakers buzz is something to see an eye on.
