Kevin Durant Has Reportedly Been Ghosting The Brooklyn Nets For ‘Weeks’

Things in Brooklyn have gone from bad to worse.

Kyrie Irving is most likely going to be on his way out of Brooklyn,  and now it appears  Kevin Durant might  not be too far behind.  Logan Murdoch of The Ringer said on “The Mismatch” podcast this week that he has been told Kevin Durant has not spoken with Brooklyn Nets executives for several weeks.

“Now, you have reports that Kyrie is looking elsewhere. I made some calls. Kevin Durant has not talked to the team in weeks,” Murdoch said, as transcribed by Nets Daily. “I don’t think Kevin is confident in the front office right now. I don’t know if he’s at the stage of leaving but there’s a big uneasiness from not only from the Kyrie side, but the KD side as well.”

Kevin Durant’s future is certainly up in the air without Kyrie being in the picture. Recently a photoshopped image of Kevin Durant and Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard emerged on social media, pointing to him bolting for the Western Conference. Lillard is now openly recruiting him to  Portland.

Durant opened up about the Irving situation a bit and said he won’t be getting involved.

“There’s no involvement at all. I mean, I can’t be involved with … this is this man’s livelihood, you know?” Durant told “The ETCs” podcast. “This is much bigger than me. Being a free agent is one of the most important times in your career. That can’t be swayed by anybody else. I just do me and wait for the time.

“There’s nothing that can happen right now. I don’t think he can even make a decision on opting out until the 29th, I think. So I just kinda let things play out and see what happens. Keep the regular contact with Ky, and we’ll see what happens. It’s something that’s so much out of my control that I don’t want to be a part of it. We’ll see what happens though.”

Durant is probably not looking to stick around if Kyrie won’t be  playing there.

What a mess.
