Floyd Mayweather’s Latest Exhibition Fight Against Mikuru Asakura Featured Some Light Shoving in Press Conference

Floyd Mayweather is getting back into the swing of things.

Things are heating up between Floyd Mayweather and Mikuru Asakura, who squared up this week to promote their exhibition fight. The two fighters had a very serious stare down following a press conference this week in Hawaii promoting their upcoming boxing exhibition bout. Mayweather and Asakura are scheduled to fight at Rizin 38 on Sept. 25th in Japan. During their stare down, both fighters got up close and personal, and Mayweather’s bodyguard shoved Asakura after the Japanese star got a little too close to the undefeated boxing legend.

You can see the shoving below:

This will be Floyd Mayweather’s fourth exhibition fight following his last professional fight which took place all the way back in 2017 against UFC champion Conor McGregor. Mayweather’s first foray into exhibition fights at the conclusion of his pro career came in 2018 against Japanese kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa. Mayweather’s second exhibition fight came against YouTuber Logan Paul last June. The most recent exhibition bout took place against former training partner Don Moore in May.

Asakura  has fought under the Rizin banner for his 12 previous professional bouts. The 29-year-old featherweight has not stepped into the ring in 2022, although he competed three times in 2021, winning the two most recent bouts by defeating Kyohei Hagiwara and Yutaka Saito by unanimous decision.

Floyd really found a way to make money and not have the pressure of winning. Another black eye for boxing.
