Brutal Twins Defense Leads To Worse Bad NRFI Beat Of The Year

Everyone who bet no runs in the first inning (also known as NRFI) of the Guardians-Twins game today must have thought they were home free.

With two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Guardians cleanup hitter Franmil Reyes hit a lazy pop up into right field with a runner on first.

Even though the ball appeared to be a clear third out off the bat, nobody on the Twins hustled over, and it ended up landing in no-mans land in right field.

The runner from first hustled in to beat the throw into home plate, and NRFI bettors everywhere cringed.

As NRFI bettors will tell you, it can lead to some of the best and most beats you’ll ever have, and today was a clear instance where the latter took place.

Later in the game, the Twins took the lead after a red-hot Carlos Correa hit another home run in the fifth inning.

At that point, though, NRFI bettors had already tuned out — and probably won’t be getting over that loss any time soon.
