Eight Ejected Following Wild Mariners-Angels Brawl

Who doesn’t love a great basebrawl?

The Seattle Mariners and Los Angeles Angels got into in a long full-team brawl in the second inning this past weekend after tensions over two days of inside pitches reached a boiling point. Seattle manager Scott Servais, Los Angeles interim manager Phil Nevin and six players were ejected following the fight, which stopped and started twice before Angels closer Raisel Iglesias came back out to the empty field to throw large containers of sunflower seeds and gum onto the infield.

After the teams finally returned to their dugouts, Iglesias returned a few moments later to heave the sunflower seeds and gum while furiously screaming at the umpires, infuriated by his ejection.

The rest of the game went off without incident as the Angels won 2-1, avoiding being swept at home.

Now that’s how you do a basebrawl.
