Anthony Rizzo Throws Tantrum As Frustration Officially Boiling Over For Yankees

Anthony Rizzo and the Yankees aren’t too happy right now.

After asserting their dominance all season long, the Yankees have sputtered coming out of the gates in the second half of the season.

Since the break, the Yanks are just 8-15, and their World Series odds have been adjusted accordingly.

After losing two out of three to their bitter rival, Red Sox, the Yankees open a three game set at home against the Rays this week. And so far, it’s been more of the same.

The Yankees have continued their offensive struggles, and Anthony Rizzo let out some of his frustrations on the bat rack during the game. When coming back to the dugout following a dugout dispute, Rizzo threw a whole tantrum in the dugout.

Fans immediately likened Anthony Rizzo’s reaction to that of all Yankees fans following the recent slide.

Anthony Rizzo recently returned from a sore back, but he’s pretty confident it won’t be too much of an issue for him going forward.

“We’ll try to just be smart,’’ Rizzo said. “It’s frustrating [to sit out], whether you’re winning or losing. It sucks. It’s part of baseball. It’s better now than later [in the season].”

Right now, the Yankees are dealing with a series of injuries, slumping from their lineup, and some trouble in the back-end of their bullpen.

Still, the Yankees sit 10 games ahead of the Blue Jays for first place in the AL East. So they’ll need to use the next month and a half to get right before the postseason begins.
