Shooter McGavin is having some fun on social media again.
Back in 2017, TMZ reported that Christopher McDonald — the actor who played McGavin in the popular Happy Gilmore movie — was arrested on a DUI.
He reportedly tried using the celebrity card to get out of the whole mess.
Per TMZ:
“Happy Gilmore” star Christopher McDonald has been arrested for drunk driving … TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell us “Thelma & Louise” actor was driving in the Lake Arrowhead area Saturday at 9 PM when he was taken into custody. An eyewitness tells TMZ McDonald drove his classic silver Porsche off the highway, taking out a gas meter at Stater Bros. and ending up in an embankment.
The eyewitness says McDonald told cops he appeared in “Happy Gilmore.” They were not impressed. McDonald was taken to a nearby jail where he’s being kept until he sobers up. He will be released without bail.
This is not McDonald’s first drunk driving case. He was arrested in 2013 for DWI in Wilmington, North Carolina. At the time he blew .15 … almost double the legal limit.”
Today, Shooter McGavin decided to have a little fun with his past demons.
When reposting a picture of the headline revealing he tried to use the “Happy Gilmore” card to get out of the arrest, McGavin captioned his attempt by explaining that “shooters shoot”.

Obviously, Christopher McDonald is best known for his role as the villain in Happy Gilmore, and I guess it was worth a shot to try to tell cops who he was.
Regardless, it’s good to see ol’ Shooter is staying out of trouble for the past few years.
